Y’all. This week fell apart but I also learned something very important.
I was thrown a little bit of a curve ball in an unexpected opportunity. I had been looking for the perfect opportunity to buy or build a home near where I already live now. Something kind of fell into my lap but I needed to act fast. So I needed to get my house ready to be inspected and put on the market. In about 5 days. That required all my free time.
I did not walk 2 miles a day.
I did not walk 10,000 steps most days.
I was frustrated but I was doing what I needed to do.
However, when I looked at the stats for the week on my app attached to my watch, I had burned more calories, had more variety in my “training” and recorded different types of “workout targets” (new and different muscle groups being targeted by the watch’s best guess)
So, I missed every one of my goals as far as the letter of the goals. But all in all, I think I had a good week. I didn’t do it with intention but I did it. I think a good lesson is to find ways to make daily tasks into workouts. I still plan on keeping the goals I set but I learned that I can add some variety and get results that are better than what I am doing now.
HOWEVER, I will not ready my house to sell in 5 days again. I must have just lost my mind.
This week was much better for me. I was much more aware of what I ate and met my goals for water consumption and calories.
I have been struggling to find a workout program that works for me. I generally dislike the gym, for a multitude of reasons. So I am currently trying a couple different apps that guide you through specific exercises. Hopefully I will be able to stick with one. I can say, my muscles are already feeling it from my workouts last week.
My goals for this coming week now include being better about planning meals ahead of time. Summer is coming and kids will be home, which means we will be on the go a lot more. I need to prepare so that we stay out of the drive thru.
